The Reach
The maximum reach of a crane is dependent upon the lift weight, the length of its boom extension and the radius of the load governed by the boom angle. The spacing of the outriggers and their foundations is also a contributing factor to the cranes overall lifting and reach capacity.
Generally speaking, the maximum reach/weight relationships on our GR 200EX with full outrigger extension is around 350kg – 3,500kg at a 27.5 metre boom extension depending on the load radius. To achieve a 20 ton lift we would need a maximum boom extension no longer than 6.5 metres and a load radius no greater than 2.5 metres.
